Portable Camping Solar Shower
Solar showers are an inexpensive, portable solution to keeping clean while camping or any outdoor activity.
Take a Warm Shower Anywhere
A portable camping solar shower is a must have for any outdoor adventure. Whether you are car camping, hiking, fishing or attending a concert/festival, this little bag will be the solution to many tasks. First and foremost, we think of the solar camp shower as precisely that, a shower for personal hygiene. Not many people like to gad about dirty.
Now you can enjoy a warm shower anytime, anywhere your adventures take you. All you do is fill the receptacle with water and set it in the sun a few hours to warm. That’s it. If you don’t have enough sun or you make camp too late, you can easily add a couple cups of hot water from the campfire. If your shower has been setting out all day in the middle of summer, you may need to actually cool it down with a couple cups of cold water.
Big deal, you say. You can do the same thing with a bucket. Well that is true to a certain extent. But the solar shower is equipped with solar reflector material to maximize the use of the sun. And the dedicated outdoor camping shower comes with a nozzle so you can control the flow of water. You can’t do that with a bucket.
Wash Off the Day
Picture if you will, you are enjoying a pleasant day in the wilderness. The sun is dappling through the trees, birds are singing, all around you is God’s great glory. So far your camping trip has been a little slice of Heaven. And then you make camp. You gather your dry twigs and kindling and start a fire. Maybe you caught some yummy fish in the lake and you have cleaned them and are pan frying them. Someone pulls out a guitar and you all sing songs around the campfire while roasting marshmallows. Do you like your marshmallows lightly toasted or do you like to incinerate them?

It’s been a busy day. All the fresh air has put you in mind to bed down early. And just then you catch a whiff of yourself. Yep, there is a distinct mixture of dust and dried perspiration mixed with fish guts emanating from your person. The thought of taking your aromatic self into the sleeping bag is less than pleasant. And that is when you can be thankful you set up your portable camping solar shower earlier in the day. It has been a really great day and now it is time to wash off the day.
Keep Clothes and Bedding Clean and More
One key advantage to taking along a camping shower is, if you are clean, your clothes and bed gear stay clean longer. Which means you can actually pack less stuff. And the stuff you are using remains pleasant and civilized. After all this is not Survivor. No one is going to give you a million dollars to spend a week like Grizzly Adams. So you may as well make provisions to wash yourself.

And if that is not enough motivation for you, you will make less trips to your water source. Yes you can use the water in your bag to wash dishes and wash you. Hung by the camp food preparation area it is great to be able to wash your hands while cooking. And the kids can do a quick face and hand wash before eating. Just a matter of thinking outside the box or bag as the case may be. If you have any ideas, drop me a comment.

Ok, so if i dont do that, what you will do ?
Good post that explains well that yucky feeling one gets when slipping into his sleeping bag and feeling the dried sweat against the fabric
I remember all those times I went camping and had fun but couldn’t completely enjoy 100% when all I could think of is to get home and take a nice warm shower.
Camping showers really solve this problem and I think they’re getting more and more common on campgrounds and for outdoor activities since a lot of people don’t feel totally at ease when feeling unclean. Solar shower bags and propane water heaters are the two types of camping showers on the market and they really do come in handy on camping trips. Find out their advantages and disadvantages and get the one that fits your needs.
